Self – improvement Strategy for Super Wizards

Wizards are always looking for ways to raise competence and prospects.  And executive wizards know that a career self-audit is the best way to excel. Here is a self-audit exercise for you.

The determinants of success are in the illustration. These are, as you know, interactive, and success can be assured when they are all in sync, and you have updated and full knowledge of each. If any one of them is in crisis, the overall performance will be adversely affected. Say, for example, if there are serious differences in the family, you will be disturbed, and your performance at work will be adversely affected. 

So, ponder over each of these frequently and keep a score sheet about where you stand,  and strive hard to fill the gaps. This can become your own success guide. The key is to be aware of the most recent changes in the various factors in your environment. Your aim is to be omniscient  (know the basic and new things in all fields ) and omniattentive (keep your eyes and ears open to watch new events and their implications in each field). As regards omnipotency, it is the capacity to attain unchallenged ‘authority’ by using all the qualities of a commandant.

The visual below lists all the factors influencing your position. Your goal is to evaluate where you stand vis-à-vis each of these:

• Positive/negative impact on each factor in the past week/month/year
• List the proactive efforts that you will make to manage each of these
• Anticipate changes in each of these spheres and your plan to manage the impact of it to your benefit

 

AI experts are creating enormous and radical changes in each sphere. These are so mind-blowing is obvious from the fact that Elon Musk became a trillionaire in June 2026 and by late July had lost billions of dollars and that unique position too! Technology is moving so fast that the mighty Claude’s newer internal releases like Opus5 outperform its own miraculous previous models. Competitors’ systems are also constantly jumping to more intricate and attractive levels.  

                              

In such a dynamic, ever-evolving environment, how can you master higher management business skills and influence vital policy matters?

Simple, by taking initiative. To be inquisitive, to get information, and to pay attention to what is happening elsewhere. Helping to find solutions is not an offence if confidentiality and discretion are strictly observed. You can get knowledge on most issues by constant learning and by widening your circle of friends by adopting  Sir Baden-Powell’s motto for the Scouts: (i) be prepared to help, and (ii) do a good turn a day (the more the better). You just have to have an open mind and go about helping others; it helps to widen your circle of influence and, perhaps, your knowledge, image and visibility grow faster.
