The Management pundits and hallowed Gurus have been debating for over 100 years to create an ideal executive. Hundreds of papers have debated 'Managers, not MBAs';'Leaders not Managers' and several other topics but without any final conclusion.

The global lockdown and the resultant crisis has stupefied most. There is only one conclusion and it is that only the wizards can lead in the business blizzards. 


In fact,  such a radical megatrend has already started. Bill Gates told CNN's Mr Zakaria a few months ago: "Steve Jobs was a wizard--he mesmerised people-- I am a little wizard". There are numerous writings describing Elon Musk as a wizard. He has gone beyond that and apparently aims to transfer wizardous abilities to many others through what has come to be known as 'wizard's Hat" a part of his new project 'Neuralink"

 

The wizards think 'out of the world and not; out of the proverbial box'; which is shattered anyway. Wizards do not waste time in building and refining quantitative models and keep on refining them often without reflecting the harsh ground realities. The wizards strong points are the constant pursuit of innovations and creations. For them the fantasy and reality are inseparable. They believe in the motto (source obscure): "Impossible we do immediately, miracles take a little longer'. People from all fields and particularly the young have no option but to assimilative such wizardrous spirit to be effective in this unprecedented deepest Covind-19 crisis and also the utter disruptions caused by the Industrial Revolution (4IR), and the unfolding Fifth Industrial Revolution(5IR)

Foresight Trust aims to actively participate in this movement to spread wizardry; our objective is to help grow business wizards mainly through (i) a series of symposia to unleash the Winning Power of Collective Intelligence and Ingenuity,(ii) the new technique of 'co-coaching', and (iii) book reviews and brainwaves of new business buffs. FT is associated with a group of eminent and experienced (with scars and medals) executives from business, industry, academia, social groups, and other fields.

The business tools. models, formulas, guidelines developed during the stable conditions are now useless. We need newer and newer 'Navigators' (ideas, theories tools, models and techniques) to illumine the future courses and help startups, scaleups, spruceups and soarups navigate safely in storms/blizzards surrounding; Our foresighters' insights and foresights and, other thought leaders' books, blogs, brainwaves will beget the bright beacons. Can't believe the effectiveness of such books and brainwaves?? Take a cue from this candid confession of the greatest thought leader and a silent 'revolutionary'.

Besides serious books, brainwaves hunches of ordinary folks often provide signals for predicting the future, a strong point of wizards.. A few surveys of the reigning unicorns reveal that a fairly large percentage do not have august alma mater; in fact, some dropouts have outshone the Ivy leaguers. Also, Philip Tetlock reveals in his (best book award-winning) book 'Superforecasting' that "a few hundred ordinary people (author dubs them as superforecasters) and some simple math cannot only compete with professionally supported by a multibillion-dollar apparatus but also beat them".
